The technician app
What your field team sees on their phone — job board, on-site steps, payment collection, and working offline.
Technicians work from a mobile-friendly version of the app instead of the office dashboard. It's built to work with a spotty signal — if the connection drops mid-job, everything queues up and syncs automatically once it's back.
The job board
Technicians see their jobs grouped as Today, Upcoming, Past, and Overdue, and can search by customer name, phone, or service type. Tapping a job opens its full detail.
Running a visit
- 1
Mark arrival
Record that you've reached the site — this unlocks the rest of the visit steps.
- 2
Work the checklist and log materials
Fill any service checklist attached to the job, and log the chemicals/parts/stock used — this automatically deducts from stock.
- 3
Take photos
Before and after photos attach directly to the job as proof of work.
- 4
Complete the visit
Collect payment if anything is owed, then fill a short end-of-service report (customer feedback, completion notes). If a photo or completion doesn't upload right away because of a bad connection, it's saved and retried automatically.
Collecting payment
If the job has a quoted amount, the technician can collect payment on the spot — cash, card, or whatever methods your office has set up — and an invoice is created or updated automatically. There's also a dedicated "Collect Payment" visit type for when a technician is sent purely to pick up money on an existing unpaid invoice, without billing the customer twice.
Punching in, leave, and equipment
- Punch in/out from the app header if your workspace uses Attendance & Leave.
- Submit or check leave requests from My leave.
- My assets shows equipment assigned to you, your van stock (with a Record usage option), and any open maintenance tasks.
Working offline
If you lose signal mid-job, keep working as normal — arrivals, notes, materials, photos, and completions are all saved on the device and sync automatically the moment you're back online. A small badge shows sync status; it never blocks you from continuing.
Example: an offline site visit
No signal, no problem
A technician arrives at a warehouse with no cell coverage. They mark arrival, complete the checklist, take before/after photos, and collect cash payment — all offline. As soon as they step outside and the phone reconnects, everything syncs to the office automatically, including the photos.
